So this Mini Mantis Tiller is a bit expensive $299 (You can get it cheaper here) but it does a great job around the garden and is comparatively light, so you don't have to worry about lugging around some big rototiller.

One great thing about buying from Mantis too is that the blades are guaranteed not to bend or break for life.
The engine hums wonderfully and starts easily following the basic instructions.

You can also get the mini mantis tiller with an edging attachment, as well as quite a few other attachments being available so that the tiller will work for a lot of purposes.
If you use the mini mantis for a few hours, you definitely will feel that you've been tilling the soil in both your arms and hands, but this tiller is overall very excellent for the job.

One way we've found that the mantis tiller works well is if you actually pull it backwards. What I mean is that if you take the time to walk it forward and really dig it into the soil, then you can push down easier while pulling it backward, and that really grabs the clumps from the soil and breaks them up.

It also means that we can till a 20ft x 30ft garden in about 45 minutes to an hour, instead of the 3-5 hours it used to take by shovel.

Check out the cultivator.

I'm actually a big fan of this because I think it's as good as the original tiller to really dig into the dirt and break up the soil. Which, of course, you need to do if you want your plants to grow well.
